HISTORY
The Phoenix Police Reserve was formed in 1951, as an outgrowth of the civil defense auxiliary which existed during World War II.
The Reserve Division is one of the Police Department's eight major divisions, which is headed by an Assistant Chief. It is nationally recognized as one of the best police reserve organizations in the country. The Mayor and Police Chief have set a goal to have a force of 300 sworn reserve officers. Read More >
ASSIGNMENTS
Just as career officers, reserve officers are initially assigned to one of our six patrol precincts following their graduation from the police academy, where they complete the field training officer (FTO) program. Read More >
